Overview
The primary route to a Permanent Commission in the Pakistan Navy. Cadets train at Pakistan Naval Academy (PNS Rahbar), Manora Island, Karachi. Branches include Executive, Engineering, Education, Supply & Secretariat, and others.
Eligibility Criteria
- Pakistani citizen
- Must be unmarried (civilians); married/unmarried allowed for service candidates
- Age: Civilians 16½ to 21 years | Service Candidates 17–23 years
- Must have passed both Matric and FSc with minimum 60% marks
- Compulsory FSc subjects: Physics + Mathematics + one of (Chemistry, Computer Science, or Statistics)
- A/O-Levels accepted with IBCC equivalence
- Hope Certificate accepted if FSc Part-I ≥ 65%
- Minimum height: 5'4" (162.5 cm)
- Weight proportionate to height per BMI standards

18 months at PNS Rahbar → passes out as Midshipman → 6 months sea training → commissioned as Sub-Lieutenant (~2 years total)

Intelligence (verbal/non-verbal) + Academics: English, Physics, Mathematics, General Knowledge.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Running, push-ups, sit-ups, chin-ups at PNR&SC.
Preliminary Medical Examination
Health check at Pakistan Navy Recruitment & Selection Centre.
Initial Interview
Personality and academic aptitude interview at PNR&SC.
ISSB (4–5 Days)
Comprehensive leadership, psychological, and physical assessment.
Final Medical Examination
Detailed medical at CMH/PN Hospitals.
Final Selection (NHQ)
Naval Headquarters merit list and joining instructions.
