Overview

The Technical Cadet Course is an engineering-focused permanent commission pathway. Candidates complete a full 4-year engineering degree at NUST-affiliated military colleges, followed by 1-year military training at PMA Kakul. Commissioned as Captains — one rank higher than the Long Course.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pakistani citizen
  • Must be unmarried
  • Age: 17–21 years
  • FSc (Pre-Engineering): Minimum 65% marks
  • ICS accepted only for Computer Software Engineering track (min. 65%)
  • A-Levels: Physics + Mathematics + Chemistry/Computer Studies/CS (Grades A–C)
  • Hope Certificate accepted if FSc Part-I marks ≥ 65%
  • Minimum height: 5'4" (162.5 cm)
  • Weight proportionate to height (per BMI)

Computerized Intelligence & Academic Tests

Engineering-focused tests at AS&RCs: Physics, Mathematics, and reasoning.

Physical Fitness Test & Initial Medical

Fitness and health assessment at AS&RC.

Initial Interview Panel

Personality and academic aptitude interview at the AS&RC.

5

ISSB (4–5 Days)

Full ISSB evaluation: psychological, group tasks, outdoor activities, interview.

6

Final Medical Board

Comprehensive medical at CMH.

7

Final Selection (GHQ)

GHQ merit list; selected candidates proceed to engineering colleges.
